Building Trust Since 1946
We started a project installing 10 of our 2” diameter pipe pilings to
stabilize the corner of a home in Renton that has settled about 3”.
This home is on a bit of a slope and has very soft soil under the South
West corner. The project was reviewed by a structural engineer who
factors in the weight of the entire house and determined that the
pilings need to be installed at 3’ on center. We drive the pilings with
either a 90lb pneumatic jack hammer or a 140lb Rhino hammer until they
meet refusal criteria. Refusal is considered 1” of penetration or less
per minute of continues driving. We are attaching a Dixie* brand
foundation bracket to attach the piling to the foundation.
Once the pilings are complete, we raise the foundation and house framing up level.
